Set within 23 acres of open meadow, forest, and pasture, The Ranch at Wolf Creek is a family-owned property shaped by history and connection. Historic cabins relocated to the property, some dating back to the 1700s, share the landscape with barns and gathering spaces thoughtfully restored and built by hand over time.
You can feel it in the details, in the quiet, and in the way the ranch carries its history without making a fuss about it. It is a place that feels lived in, loved, and ready to welcome the next chapter of someone else's story.
At the heart of The Ranch at Wolf Creek stands The Horse Barn accomodates up to 80 guests, handcrafted by Amish builders rich with character. Inside, soaring ceilings, chandeliers, draped fabric, and warm market lights create a space that feels both grand and welcoming.
In front of the barn doors, the social hour unfolds beneath strands of light and open summer sky. Aged whiskey barrels and reclaimed wood tables create natural gathering places, while a classic black-and-white checkered dance floor brings a sense of timeless celebration. Nearby, the lawn offers room for yard games and space for enjoying the Montana evenings.
Whether it is dinner and dancing or quiet toasts shared among friends and family, The Horse Barn holds each moment with ease and intention.
Shaded by willows and crimson maples, The Well House has long been a place to gather. Whimsical tables invite lingering meals and easy conversation, where stories are shared and time seems to soften.
Leaves whispering overhead and the rhythms of the ranch carry on in the distance, creating a setting that feels both familiar and quietly removed from everything else. It is a place where guests find themselves returning again and again, for meals, conversation, and the in-between moments that become memories.
Beside the rustic Hay Barn stands The Old Pine, rooted in this land for more than 175 years. It survived the Great Fire of 1910 and remains a quiet symbol of strength and continuity.
Together, the tree and barn form one of the ranch's most enduring scenes, a place where history is visible, where photographs feel grounded, and where moments naturally slow.
The Ranch at Wolf Creek welcomes guests of every age. The Meadow at Play is designed for open, unstructured time together, with a playground, trampoline, and a unique container pool.
Across the meadow, afternoons stretch easily into evening as laughter moves through the property and the day unfolds without hurry.
Nestled among tall pines near the pool, The Shower Shed offers on-property guests a private place to refresh after a day outdoors. Its warm wood exterior, black trim, and classic metal roof blends naturally into the landscape.
Inside, a spacious tiled shower and antique-style vanity with a hammered copper sink create an unexpectedly refined retreat, simple, comfortable, and quietly elevated.
Across the property, ceremony sites unfold in distinct settings, each shaped by its own light, landscape, and sense of stillness. At The Ranch at Wolf Creek, weddings feel deeply personal.
Couples exchange vows beneath open skies in the meadow, beside historic structures in the pasture, or under the shelter of towering trees. Each place carries its own character, shaped by nature, history and a quiet that stays with guests long after the day ends.
Joni and Jake are the founders and owners of The Ranch at Wolf Creek, a husband-and-wife team who came to Montana later in life.
They followed their grandchildren from Nevada to Montana; drawn by family and the desire to stay close to the people they love most.
Their extended family has been fortunate to reunite every five years, but it wasn't until their parents passed that they truly understood the weight of those moments. The memories they created became their most cherished inheritance.
Joni and Jake remain deeply hands-on in the life of the ranch. Jake is the one who can build/fix just about anything, and Joni is the organizer and detail-oriented steady hand who keeps everything running smoothly. Guests will often see them on the property, welcoming visitors and tending to the ranch in quiet, practical ways.
Their hope is simple: that other families can gather here, bridge the miles between them, and leave with the kind of lasting memories that keep them connected year after year.
